Decoden Phone Case

Sprinkle on the charm and express your creativity with Decoden Japanese Crafting. Decoden is a movement all about decorating items with kawaii (cute) things such as candy charms, whipped cream, pastel colors, and of course, chibi (small) animals. These items are layered to create a preppy, maximalist, top-layered look.  It was originally known as “keitei art,” but became known as Decoden later.

Many of our products and accessories can have Decoden. We offer hundreds of deco charms to choose from and our deco-cream is water-based, made with food-coloring, non-toxic, safe and easy to squeeze.  Inspiration product samples are available in-store.  Charm prices vary and start at $3 for 2-charms and sprinkles are unlimited.

How it works:

• Step 1: For Phone Cases, you will need to bring in your own case. Please note, this case will take 2 days to dry and will be going in a take home box. If you have a backup phone case for your phone, it's recommended.
• Step 2: Choose your Charms and Whipped Fairy Dust Icing colour (this icing is clear, holographic, shimmer with flakes)
• Step 3: Design and Decorate!

PHONE CASE DECODEN TIPS:

1. The Best type of Phone Case to Decoden

1. Smooth plastic cases (like TPU or glossy silicone) can be too slick. A hard plastic case (polycarbonate or ABS) works best.
2. If you only have a slick case, try to roughen the surface slightly with fine sandpaper or a nail file to help the cream grip.

2. Clean the Surface

• Wash the phone case with mild soap and water, then dry completely.
• Wipe with rubbing alcohol to remove any oils, dust, or residue.

Time to Craft: About 15 minutes.   This products takes 1- 2 days to set at home (you can leave the store with your deco products; we will apply heat to help speed up the drying time)

CREATE THIS PRODUCT A LA CARTE IN-STORE.  Our A La Carte service is great for small groups (less than 5 people). A La Carte is pay per item. How to store your Decoden product:  You can take your decoden products home same day. We recommend keeping your  Decoden item dry it in a cool and ventilated place for 1 full day before using the product.
